Watching programmes like this & in this instance, seeing pictures of a dead baby elephant & then a dead bull elephant totally appal & disgust me. It all comes down to money & greed & of how much more money can be made from selling the ivory on. The law has to be changed & strengthened to stop this.The elephant is a magnificent animal but sadly, it will die out if ivory trading is allowed to continue. Everything possible must be done to discourage poaching & to conserve them from extinction.

The big underreported issue is that all these poaching are done by big businessmen and especialy ones who are in power, it is the government, I feel like subsaharan Africa is spiralling downwards rather than improving, the wealth are getting wealthier, while the poor are becoming more poorer.

It’s wrong to say that FOR SURE the Chinese are behind the ivory trading. The Chinese may be catalysts, but it’s not to say that they are the only wrongdoers.

The government of Kenya never should have sold their seized ivory! How stupid! Ebay halted the sale of ivory because the trade was completely out of control. Ivory was being sold by the ton via the mail. The origin was China of course, which has a long history of ivory use. You don’t have to wonder why the Chinese are in Africa. As long as there is a dollar to be made on ivory products the elephants will continue to die. The world should take Ebay’s lead and BAN the sale of ivory altogether!

@ibuckfush ~ You want the entire list of the directions the U.S. is heading ? My first suggestion would be to actually READ the Patriot ACT to begin with. IF you had read it we wouldn’t be having this conversation. Our current president has endorsed it with out change. There is 1000’s of documents that explain the agendas that are destroying the rights of the people. Try reading them .Patroit Act is a good place to start.
My bet is 1% of Americans even know what’s in it. Then decide ~

Haha, while I am not a supporter of PETA at all, I actually sympathize a little bit with them if they do decide to actually protest this issue, since it’s actually an important one.
But the one thing I gotta raise though, is that if I ever become a celebrity and decide to wear fur, I would LOVE for PETA to try and stop me.

When in truth they have, and do. Humans as a whole are dangerous, stupid creatures most of the time. Regardless of their skin color or country. So at least we agree on that.

The U.S. fought decades against communism…NOW our leaders ‘embrace” them ?
